Most traditional smartphones feature 120Hz refresh rate displays, meaning they won’t truly benefit from games supporting above 120 fps. That said, a new smartphone has arrived from a Chinese brand called OnePlus. It is the company’s latest flagship phone, called the OnePlus 15, which not only features a 165Hz display but also supports Delta Force along with many other competitive titles, including Call of Duty Mobile and Valorant Mobile at 165 fps.

Design and build
The circular rear camera design started with the OnePlus 11, which was released in 2023. The OnePlus 12 and 13 kept a similar design. However, the newer OnePlus 15 comes with a massive design language shift. There is a square camera module on the rear side, resembling the OnePlus 13s from earlier this year. The phone comes in three color options, including black, titanium, and purple. Unlike a gaming phone with hefty weight, the OnePlus 15 weighs 215 grams.

Display
OnePlus has utilized BOE’s latest X3 Oriental screen for the OnePlus 15. It is a 6.65-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. It is a flat display with 165Hz refresh rate. This enables the phone to take full use of a game with high FPS support. With a shooting game like Delta Force, smooth gameplay is a vital element. Hence, the higher the frames per second means more smoother and faster the gameplay will be.
Performance

Display is one part, but the second one is the chipset. Without a competent chipset, it is impossible to take full leverage of a high refresh rate display. Hence, the OnePlus 15 features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This is Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, succeeding the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor used on the OnePlus 13. Based on a 3nm architecture, the 8-core CPU on the OnePlus 15 has an AnTuTu score of around 3.7 million points.
One more highlighting part of the OnePlus 15 is a 7,200mAh battery. It can charge at 100W speed with a wire, and 50W wirelessly.
Camera
Gamers are less likely to be concerned about the camera. But still, for those who are stepping foot outside (touch grass), the OnePlus 15 will surely be more capable than a gaming phone. It uses a 50MP triple rear camera setup with a periscope telephoto zoom lens. For selfies, it has a 32MP shooter.
In a nutshell, the OnePlus 15 is looking like a worthy smartphone that one can buy instead of a strictly gaming phone. However, you may miss the RGB elements and a 3.5mm headphone jack. But for those looking for a smartphone that provides a flagship all-around experience without compromise on camera, but also is suitable for heavy gaming in Delta Force or other games, then this latest OnePlus phone is worth checking out.
